There are two kinds of trace fossils; the tracks and the imprints.
Tracks are things such as animal prints that made in mud or sand. They can tell scientists about animal feet, and migration paths.
Imprint fossils are imprints of leaves, shells, and even bones. They are an accurate cast of the organism's tissue.
